A few years back I came up with a reading rotation to make sure that I was reading more than just theological works. It has really helped me avoid becoming lopsided in reading. 2. Preaching
3. Counseling
4. Theology
5. Biography (both Christian and Secular)
6. Apologetics/Philosophy
7. Church/World History (these are not mutually exclusive categories)
8. Fiction (usually a classic)
9. Contemporary Issues (might include current fiction)
