Attention to Detail

Psalm 51:6 Behold, You desire truth in the innermost being, And in the hidden part You will make me know wisdom.

The most important things are the ones we most often overlook.  The Scriptures remind us that the truth and virtue God demands of us begin on the inside.  Rather than making major changes we should first attend to the small things.  God always tests us with smaller tasks before entrusting us with greater ones (Luke 16:10).

I’ve heard it said that the way a man does one thing is the way he does all things.  To demonstrate love and truth only in great things while we neglect it in minor matters means that we don’t really understand what God requires.

This is a great reminder – thank you! It made me think of a quote that I looked up for TCA. Small things do matter.

“Therefore the Christian heart, since it has been thoroughly persuaded that all things happen by God’s plan, and that nothing takes place by chance, will ever look to him as the principal causes of things, yet will give attention to the secondary causes in their proper place.” – John Calvin
