What Makes Me Worthy to Partake of the Lord’s Supper?

This is a question that I get frequently and Michael McKinley over at the 9 Marks Blog has posted a helpful response.  You can find it here.

I always remind everyone prior to partaking that our worth is not found in our own righteousness, but in the righteousness of Christ.  He alone can make us worthy.  This does not mean that we shouldn’t prepare through confession and repentance as well as examining our personal relationships (Mt. 5:23-24), but we must always remember that ours is an alien rather than intrinsic righteousness.
