My Final Sermon at Parkwood

A Parting Prayer for Parkwood:

The Unity of the Church

Romans 15:1-7

Main Point: The point of Christian unity is not to develop better human relationships…as important as that may be.  The ultimate reason for unity among Christians is that it displays the glory of “the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 15:5-6).  We learn this through the apostle Paul as he teaches us….

I.    The Duty of the Church (1-2)

  1. A life of Burden-bearing (1)
  2. A life of Building (2)

II.   The Demonstration to the Church (3-4)

  1. The Example of Christ (3)
  2. The Encouragement of Scripture (4)

III.   The Desire for the Church (5-7)

  1. Unity in Purpose
  2. Unity in Worship
  3. Unity in the Gospel
